Martin Vacula was born in Opava in 1980. In 2005, he graduated at the Institut of Art Studies at the University of Ostrava where he studied singing in the class of Michael Kozelsky. He continued his studies with a private tutor, baritone, Václav Zítek between 2003-2008. During his studies, he worked externally with the operatic choir of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre (1998-2002).
In 2003 he became a member of the operatic choir of the National Theatre in Prague and from 2007 to 2013 he sang in the Prague Filharmonic Choir. Nowadays, he is a freelancer and performs regularly with baroque ensembles Collegium 1704, Ensemble Inégal, Czech Ensemble Baroque, Collegium Marianum, Cappella Mariana, Ensemble Damian, Victoria Ensemble and he’s one of the founding members of the chamber choir MartinůVoices as well.
In the last years he sang solo parts at the Music Festival Znojmo (Monteverdi-Combattimento, Rameau-Platée, Cavalieri-Rappresentatione di Anima e di Corpo, Händel-Saul).
